FLINT

An interesting character design project for us as the original concept was a very simple 2D logo used by our friends over at Copper Candle.

Looking at it now it seems the final 3D model could not have turned out any other way but the truth is that “Flint” actually went through several itterations and concepts.

During this proccess we played with everything from limb length to hair thickness to colour choices. At one point he even had eyes and teeth though it was decided that this took away from the simplicity of the original design which we were determined to honor.

Once we had the approved design down on paper it was then down to our talented character artist Enkhar to bring the character to life in glorious 3D.
The initial character sclupt was done in Zbrush with a low polly version then created inside of Maya where the character was also unwrapped and rigged for animation before being sent for painting in Substance.
